How Wax Me Up collects, uses, and protects your personal data.

Who we are

Wax Me Up operates two waxing salons in the Netherlands:

What personal data we collect

  • Contact form. First name, last name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message.
  • Newsletter signup. Your email address and your consent to receive marketing emails.
  • Member signup. First name, last name, email address, and birthday, used to send members-only offers.
  • Bookings. When you book an appointment, this happens directly through Salonized, our booking provider. We do not collect or store your booking details on this website; Salonized processes that data under its own privacy policy.
  • Cookies. This website does not use analytics or advertising cookies. The Contact page embeds Google Maps, which may set its own cookies when the map loads; that is governed by Google's privacy policy, not ours.

Why we process this data

We use your data to respond to your questions, send the marketing communications you have opted into, and administer our membership program. We rely on your consent for newsletter and member emails, and on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries sent through the contact form. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Who we share it with

We share data with the service providers that run parts of this website on our behalf, including Salonized for online bookings and our email or CRM provider once the newsletter and membership forms are connected to one (TODO). We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected for, or as required by law. Exact retention periods are still being finalised (TODO).

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to our processing of it, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email the location you deal with using the addresses above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss or unauthorised access.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
